AMY RACANELLO, PH.D.

Dr. Amy Racanello is a clinical neuropsychologist, who specializes in pediatrics. She completed her bachelor of science at Cornell University, where she started tutoring and founded the Pearl Learning Group. Dr. Racanello went on to earn her first master’s degree and an advanced certificate in school psychology from Brooklyn College, The City University of New York (CUNY). She earned her second master’s degree and a doctoral degree from the Educational Psychology Department at The Graduate Center, CUNY. Dr. Racanello completed her post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Columbia University Medical Center, and she was the DeHirsch-Robinson Fellow at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian (CHONY)/Columbia University Medical Center. 

Dr. Racanello has extensive training and experience conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for children of all ages, and she specializes in evaluating individuals with complex learning difficulties.  She is the founder and director of Pearl Learning Group, a boutique educational services practice based in Staten Island. Led by Dr. Amy Racanello, Pearl Learning Group provides students with programs that are specifically tailored to their cognitive and learning needs and supported by valid and reliable research.

In addition to her work at Westchester Parenting, she is the clinical manager and a senior clinical neuropsychologist at the Healthy Brain Network at the Child Mind Institute. The Healthy Brain Network is a community-centered program designed to collect data from and provide diagnostic consultations to 10,000 children and adolescents in New York City to further the study of child and adolescent mental illness. Dr. Racanello is also certified to teach and train parents and other professionals in the 1-2-3 Magic Discipline Program, and she is actively completing a specialized training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.  When spending time out of the office, Dr. Racanello enjoys spending time with her family and traveling internationally.
