DIVORCE AND SEPARATION
“People underestimate their capacity for change. There is never a right time to do a difficult thing.” – John Porter
At Westchester Parenting, we understand that the transition to separation and divorce can be an emotionally and financially draining time for any family. Children often face challenges that can impact their functioning. Regardless of where you are in the process, Westchester Parenting can help you identify and appropriately address your family’s current and future needs. We collaborate with family members around issues surrounding divorce including; navigating the process, sharing information in an age-appropriate manner, collaborative co-parenting, absent parents, managing ongoing family conflict, custody and visitation arrangements, new relationships and remarriage, and creating step-families. We provide consultation and therapeutic interventions to help families build upon their strengths in order to find a new equilibrium and to create healthier family dynamics.
Our team offers interventions based in attachment theory, family systems theory, parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and insight-oriented techniques. We provide individual therapy, co-parenting therapy, and divorce coaching to support children, teens and adults when navigating changes to their families. We specialize in approaches to help parents feel more confident in the choices they make for their families.
